Telefónica backs Taskhub
Telefónica Ventures has invested a six-figure sum in London-based task outsourcing start-up Taskhub.
The company has been supported by accelerator Wayra London – also part of the Telefónica venture division – since May last year. It recently launched in London and plans to expand across the rest of the UK this year.
Telefónica will support the company by opening access to its O2 channels in the UK, with a view to creating further synergies in other markets where Telefónica operates.
Wayra is a start-up accelerator funded by Telefonica. The businesses selected by Wayra UK in May received up to £40,000 in funding, a work space at the London Academy until March 2013, access to technology experts and mentoring.

Taskhub is an online platform that allows people to outsource tasks and small jobs to vetted expert bidders in their community. The company takes a percentage of the overall transaction value as its fee. The business was founded in London in January 2012 and currently employs three people, two of which are salaried.
