
Wellington backs £600,000 seed round for import.io
Wellington Partners and private investors have backed UK-based big data platform import.io with a ТЃ600,000 seed funding round.
Following Wellington's investment, import.io will look to expand and develop its cloud-based data platform. The deal was initiated by the company, which approached Wellington for funding.

Founded in London in June 2012, import.io has developed a cloud-based platform that extracts and connects data from the internet. The platform is currently in development stages and targets users in the fields of data journalism, retail trend analysis, commercial intelligence for due diligence and personalised events listing services. The business operates with a team of nine people.

Eric Archambeau is a general partner at Wellington. Alta Vista founder Louis Monier and French technology investor Emmanuel Javal also invested in the round.
