
DFJ acquires TTP's venture portfolio
DFJ Esprit has acquired all the venture capital investments of TTP Ventures, the investment arm of Cambridge-based technology consultancy TTP Group.
The deal for the vehicle, a £34m investment fund with a 1999 vintage, is the 10th direct secondary portfolio acquisition made by the firm.
The acquisition includes investments in digital display company Displaydata and pharmaceutical company Pulmagen Therapeutics.
According to TTP Ventures' website, other investments include multimedia processors company Alphamosaic; medicinal chemistry, biochemical and biological screening firm Argent Discovery; power conversion and lighting business Cambridge Semiconductor; broadband circuits company Element 14; 3D display producer Ocuity; X-ray diffraction instrumentation maker Oxford Diffraction; and spectroscopy and imaging systems company TeraView.
DFJ has a history of investing alongside TTP; in October last year the firms took part in a $25m investment for portfolio company ZBD Solutions.
The latest investment means DFJ has investments in 140 companies acquired through portfolio acquisitions. Other such investments include 3i's European portfolio, Prelude Trust, Viventures and Top Technology.
