Notion leads £1.7m round for Apperio
Notion Capital has led a £1.7m seed funding round for legal fee transparency business Apperio.
NextLaw Labs and IQ Capital also joined the London-based startup's funding round.
The fresh capital will be used to grow the company's team and further strengthen its products.
Company
Founded in 2013, London-based Apperio provides real time legal fee tracking. It aims to address the complex and opaque nature of legal fees in order to reduce client uncertainty over pricing and to improve understanding around legal work budgeting.
The startup won the London tech accelerator Seedcamp in 2013, which enabled it to secure initial funding from business angels. Since then, Apperio now counts 17 partnerships with law firms including CMS, Taylor Wessing and Osborne Clarke. It has 10 corporate clients, which are mainly private equity and venture capital firms.
