MSN.co.uk, the UK's most popular website has announces a new partnership with leading online DVD rental service Video Island, which sees the creation of MSN DVD Rental within the MSN Entertainment Channel. The service will be completely integrated within the MSN Entertainment Channel and as well as being able to search by name or using the A-Z function, users will have the options to browse by genre or by decade. The MSN Quick Picks facility also allows users to reserve soon to be released films, check other users' recommendations and view critics' choices.The business has also announced a partnership with Comet, one of the UK's largest out of town electrical retailers, to promote Video Island as a value add service to Comet customers. The partnership will give Video Island a presence across all of Comet's 250 retail outlets and will also be promoted to its customer base via web and email channels.In September 2003 Video Island received EUR 3m in a first funding round from Benchmark Capital and Index Venture. The London-based company was founded in 2002 and currently employs 10 people (6 October 2003, page 17).
