The Bolt-ons Digest is a compilation put together by Unquote with the main add-on deals announced by PE-backed companies in Europe over the last few days.
Healthcare
Capiton’s Wundex, a German homecare provider for patients with chronic wounds, has acquired Bavarian wound care specialist Ellipsa. The deal is the company’s first add-on and adds a digital training platform to the group. Capiton acquired Wundex in March 2021 via Capiton VI.
EQT’s Cerba Healthcare, a French diagnostics laboratory group, has acquired local peer Biomed 05 from the founders. EQT acquired Cerba in March 2021 via EQT IX for EUR 4.5bn.
TMT
Sovereign Capital Partners' Bioscript, a UK-based healthcare information agency, has acquired Meridian HealthComms, a local healthcare communications agency. The deal is the third bolt-on under the sponsor. Sovereign bought Bioscript in March 2021.
Main Capital Partners' Sivis, a DACH-based authorisation software specialist, has acquired 2ndC, a Danish identity and access management solutions provider. The target is Sivis' first add-on. Main Capital acquired the asset in June 2021.
Thoma Bravo's Sophos, a UK-based security software and hardware company, has acquired Soc.os, a local cybersecurity company that manages security alerts. Thoma Bravo acquired Sophos in October 2019 in a take-private deal.
Argos Wityu's Coexya, a French IT software and consultancy business, has acquired Aquilab, a local software company specialising in healthcare. Argos Wityu acquired Coexya in September 2020.
Industrials
IK Partners' Blanchon, a French manufacturer of woodcare products, has acquired family-owned RIGO, a Dutch wooden floor protection specialist. RIGO’s management has reinvested in the Blanchon group. IK acquired Blanchon in July 2021 via its Small Cap III Fund.
Gimv’s Köberl Group, a German facilities manager with EUR 64m, has acquired Kriotec, a refrigeration plant supplier in the Frankfurt region. Gimv bought Köberl in February 2020.
Nordic Capital’s Signicat, a Norwegian provider of digital identity solutions, has acquired Sphonic, a UK-based anti-fraud and identity technology company. The sponsor said Signicat aims to be a single provider for the entire digital identity and anti-financial crime lifecycle. Nordic acquired Signicat in April 2019 from Nordic Capital IX.
Triton’s All4Labels, a German label manufacturer, has acquired Grafiche Pizzi, an Italian pharma packaging company. Last month, All4Labels acquired Olympus Print Group. Triton bought the asset in August 2019 via Triton V.
Business support services
Triton’s Unica, a Dutch technical service provider, has acquired local security management company EAL. The sponsor says the add-on makes it the first company in the Netherlands to offer development, installation, management, and maintenance of complete systems in access and security. Triton acquired Unica in June 2017 via Triton Fund IV for EUR 200m.
Specialist consumer services
Livingbridge’s Stowe Family Law, a UK specialist family law firm, has acquired local peer Chapman Pieri. The sponsor said that the bolt-on adds expertise in divorce. Livingbridge acquired the asset in February 2017 via Livingbridge 6.
Charterhouse’s Funecap Group, a French crematorium operator, has acquired Altair Funeral, an Italian player in crematorium and cemetery management. The GP said that the combined group has revenues of EUR 450m and is the first pan-European group. Charterhouse acquired Funecap in August 2018 via Charterhouse X.
Tritlantic Europe’s Alete Bikes, a platform created by the sponsor to consolidate the fragmented e-bike market, has acquired Cicli Esperia, an Italian bike manufacturer. The target had EUR 37m revenue in 2021 while Alete had EUR 157m. Tritlantic first invested in the asset inNovember 2021.
Financial services
Palatine's Suntera, a Jersey-based private wealth services provider, has acquired US fund administration business Socium Fund Services. The target is the seventh bolt-on under Palatine's ownership. It first acquired the asset in June 2019 from Buyout Fund III.
Retail
Rivean Capital's TonerPartner, a German retailer of printer ink, has acquired Druckerpatronen, a local online printing supplies e-commerce site. Rivean acquired TonerPartner in December 2020 via Buyout Fund V.
