
Pemberton strengthens team with four senior hires
European alternative credit specialist Pemberton has appointed Anders Svenningsen, Christoph Polomsky, James Taylor and Sally Tankard in senior roles across its offices in London, Copenhagen and Frankfurt.
Svenningsen joins the firm as managing director and head of business development for the Nordics in Copenhagen, where he will be responsible for Pemberton’s Nordic franchise and investors, according to a press release. He brings more than 25 years of experience in finance. Prior to joining Pemberton, he was head of Nordic & Dutch Markets at Citigroup, where he was responsible for the client franchise in the region across all business and products.
Christoph Polomsky, Pemberton
Polomsky will be based in the Frankfurt office and will serve as managing director in the business development team for the DACH region. He will be responsible for Pemberton’s coverage of institutional clients in the region. With more than 20 years of experience in structured products, he joins from Nomura, where he was a managing director, leading the solutions team in Frankfurt. At Nomura, he worked on bespoke investment solutions, as well as the origination, structuring and distribution of financing and securitisation solutions for reverse mortgages, SME portfolios, leases and renewables projects.
James Taylor, Pemberton
Taylor, based in London, joins as head of investor relations (IR) and will be responsible for investor communications, reporting and onboarding across Pemberton’s strategies. He has more than 10 years of experience in IR, having held senior roles at Securis Investment Partners LLP (2018-2022), where he developed its IR function; Spinnaker Capital Group (2016-2018); and Brevan Howard Asset Management (2012-2016).
Sally Tankard, Pemberton
Finally, Tankard joins Pemberton’s Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLO) team following the appointment of Rob Reynolds to lead the strategy in March 2022. She will serve as a director, responsible for analysis and selection of leveraged finance assets for Pemberton’s CLOs. She has more than 30 years of experience in leveraged finance, credit analysis and corporate lending. Prior to joining Pemberton, Tankard was a consultant at Hornblower Business Brokers working on M&A and business valuations, and a senior analyst at Spire Partners LLP.
Through its network of ten offices across Europe and the Middle East, Pemberton now employs more than 145 professionals.
Pemberton European Mid-Market Debt Fund II held a final close on EUR 3.2bn in August 2019 and it provides senior debt financing to mid-market borrowers in Europe, focusing on companies with a turnover between EUR 75m - EUR 1bn, according to Unquote data.
The private debt manager is also preparing to launch its NAV-based financing strategy and hired Tom Doyle to head the team in April 2022, as reported. The firm is also looking to build up its NAV financing team with new hires.
