UK - Rock situation comes to a head
The fate of beleaguered lender Northern Rock will be known by the end of this week, according to reports. The matter is coming to head with an extraordinary general meeting scheduled for tomorrow. It is understood that insiders believe that there is now a sub-50% chance that Northern Rock will be sold and nationalisation is more likely despite it being the less favoured option by Chancellor Alistair Darling.
