UK - Quester leads £2.2m Perpetuum funding
Quester has announced that it has led a £2.2m series A funding round in Perpetuum, a UK-based university spinout company.
Perpetuum, a 2004 spin out from The University of Southampton, produces electro-mechanical vibration energy harvesting micro-generators. These devices use readily available vibrations to generate sufficient power to drive sensors, microprocessors and RF transmitters thus enabling a completely self-powered wireless and battery-less sensor node. The technology has been developed to address the rapidly growing and substantial market for wireless sensor systems used to monitor and control equipment and machinery in many applications such as condition monitoring.
