UK - Octopus backs True Knowledge
Octopus Ventures has invested a further £2m in internet search engine True Knowledge.
Octopus Ventures invested over 50% from Octopus Titan VCT 1 and VCT 2. The remainder was provided by members of the Octopus Investor Group, and Octopus Eureka and EIS funds. True Knowledge has developed a technology that provides "intelligent" answers to questions. Search engines usually use statistical relationships between words to find results but cannot make sense of the contents retrieved. True Knowledge structures knowledge in a way that computers can digest and understand.
