3i pulls out of Habbo Hotel firm Sulake
3i has joined Balderton in pulling out of Finnish portfolio company Sulake following a scandal in one of the online games it runs.
A Channel 4 investigation found Sulake had failed to properly police sexual content posted on its popular Habbo Hotel online game, potentially putting children who use the site at risk.
Balderton, which held a 13.5% stake, dumped its holding yesterday and 3i today announced it has exited its 16% stake in Sulake.
A 3i statement said: "3i has actively supported the Sulake board in determining the right course of action in these very challenging circumstances.
"Following a board meeting today, we have resigned our board position and will cease to be a shareholder in the company."
