GERMANY - Watson Farley to merge with Oldenbourg Plus
UK law firm Watson Farley & Williams is to merge with German private equity boutique Oldenbourg Plus, which will give the firm its first office in Munich.
The merger with the Munich-based boutique, which has a five-strong team of lawyers, will be effective from 1 July 2008. This takes the number of lawyers in Watson Farley’s German practice, which focuses on private equity and renewable energy, to around 30.
Oldenbourg Plus was found in 2005 by Andreas Oldenbourg and Simon Preisenberger. Together with their three associates they have advised on mid-market private equity transactions as well as mainstream M&A, with clients including both German and international private equity funds.
