UK - YFM completes £500,000 Syphan funding
YFM Venture Finance, through the Yorkshire and Humber Equity Fund (YHEF) and Partnership Investment Fund (PIF), has invested ТЃ500,000 into security technology company Syphan Technologies. Both YHEF and PIF contributed ТЃ250,000 of the total.
Skipton-based Syphan is a specialist developer of carrier grade, integrated threat control technology designed to protect IT networks. Built on an FPGA-technology platform, Syphan offers a 10 Gb/s total packet-inspection engine, offering integrated threat control functionality covering IDS/IPS, content filtering, distributed denial of service, data leakage and complex multi-staged attacks. The company is at an advanced stage of discussions with a number of European and US managed service providers who are working with Syphan to create new security services around its technology.
The new funding will be used to help with the completion of trials for the SyphanITC220 security appliance and the marketing of the product to data centres.
YFM first invested in the company with a £250,000 investment in 2008.
