UK - 3i postpones Fairline auction
Market rumour suggests UK-based private equity group 3i has decided against the sale of luxury yacht and powerboat-maker Fairline Boats.
In summer of 2005, 3i invested £15.5m in the £40m management buyout of Fairline Boats, obtaining two thirds of the company's equity. RBS supported the deal with a £29m debt package.
Based in Oundle, Northamptonshire Fairline Boats was established in 1965 as a manufacturer of luxury powerboats in the 34-74 foot range.
