
Ashley Highfield joins GMT Industry Council

GMT Communications Partners has appointed Ashley Highfield, Microsoft’s UK managing director and vice-president, consumer & online, to the GMT Industry Council, a network of industry experts.
At Microsoft, Highfield was responsible for consumer services across PC, mobile and internet platforms, as well as for the company’s online advertising business. He joined the company in 2008 from Kangaroo, the proposed video-on-demand joint venture between the BBC, ITV and Channel 4, where he was CEO.
Highfield is a governor of the British Film Institute, a fellow of the Royal Television Society, a member of BAFTA and a non-executive director of William Hill.
