UK - ETF leads £5m investment in Perpetuum
Environmental Technologies Fund (ETF) has led a £5m series-B funding round in Perpetuum, a manufacturer of vibration energy harvesting devices.
Also involved in this financing round were previous shareholders Quester and Top Technology. The funding will be used in the commercialisation of Perpetuum's new vibration energy-harvesting generator, which sources electric current directly from the energy of low levels of vibrations present on industrial sites to power wireless sensor networks.
This local sourcing of power enables wireless sensor nodes to operate independently of the use of batteries or mains power, which reduces the cost of both installation and maintenance. Henrik Olsen of ETF will join the Perpetuum board. This is the second investment from ETF's new fund, launched last year with a target size of EUR 150m.
