Candover shares up 20% on takeover talks
Candover shares jumped 20% this morning, following news the private equity house is in talks over a potential takeover.
The firm is involved in acquisition discussions with the Alberta Investment Management Company (Aimco), a Canadian pension fund.
Shares in Candover jumped 20% this morning to 892p, more than four times the valuation seen during market lows last year.
The deal would give Aimco major stakes in most of Candover's buyout funds and ownership of its general partners.
