GERMANY - BC Brandenberg and KfW lead EUR 4.5m Metaversum funding
BC Brandenburg Capital and KfW have led a EUR 4.5m round in GmbH, alongside return backers Balderton Capital and Grazia Equity.
Metaversum GmbH is the developer of the virtual world Twinity, which is building to-scale replicas of the world's big cities in its 3D online world. The members of the 3D community also use real profiles and realistic-looking avatars. Twinity and virtual Berlin are currently in public beta testing. The launch of virtual Singapore is set to follow this summer, and London is already under construction. The company is based in Berlin and was founded in 2006.
