SWEDEN - Chalmers back NemaLabs with further SEK 5m
Chalmers Innovation Seed Fund is backing software business Nema Labs with SEK 5m in a funding round raising a total of SEK 10m for the company's internationalisation. Other investors included Volvo Technology Transfer and Innovationsbron.
Nema Labs' technology enables programmers to quickly and reliably develop codes for fast execution on multi-core microprocessor platforms, through the product FASThread. The business spun out of Chalmers University of Technology in 2006, and is now headquartered in Gothenburg.
In June this year, the company received SEK 17.3m from Chalmers to finance the building of a sales team.
In conjunction with the current funding round, Björn Hovstadius has been installed CEO, and will lead the international expansion. Hovstadius brings 20 years of experience from the software and computing sector, including several years as international marketing manager at Microsoft.
