According to reports, UK private equity firm BC Partners has dropped out of the auction for waste management business Essent Milieu.
French private equity firm PAI, US waste firm Covanta and the Dutch consortium, which includes infrastructure funds linked to NIBC and Fortis, are said to remain in the race.
The process, led by Crédit Suisse and ING, is in its second round and sector experts expect the deal to beat the EUR 1bn mark.
