DENMARK - Vækstfonden invests DKK 10m into Universal Robots
Vækstfonden, together with return investor Syddansk Innovation and management, has injected DKK 10m into Universal Robots, a Danish developer of flexible, low-cost robot arms.
Universal Robots was founded in 2005 by Esben Østergaard og Kristian Kassov, together with Syddansk Innovation. The company's robot arm, EasyBot, weighs about 18 kg and will cost approximately DKK 100,000. It is aimed at medium-sized businesses that currently perform packaging tasks manually, with a major advantage being that it does not require connection to a larger system.
