Climate Change Capital acquired by corporate
Cleantech-focused PE house Climate Change Capital (CCC) has been acquired by NYSE-listed agribusiness Bunge.
Bunge wholly acquired Climate Change Capital Group Limited, the parent company of CCC.
Alfred Evans has been appointed CEO of CCC. James Cameron, CCC's vice chairman, will replace Vivienne Cox as chairman. Mark Macleod, CCC's chief financial officer and acting chief executive officer, will continue as CFO and director.
CCC is an investment manager and adviser specialising in low-carbon technology investments. CCC's activities include financing renewable energy projects, advising on the acquisition and divestiture strategies for carbon-intensive industries in the US and Europe, and investing in waste-to-energy projects in China and Hungary.
Climate Change Capital Private Equity (CPE), the firm's PE arm, closed a €200m vehicle in 2007. Its team comprises 10 investment professionals. In 2011, CCP notably led a £25m round for UK-based renewable energy equipment company Enecsys and invested €6m in French wastewater treatment company Orège.
