ITALY - Mediobanca to launch London branch

It is understood that the branch will be headed by former JP Morgan managing director Paolo Cuniberti and will focus on capital markets, derivatives and credit. Since 2004, Milanese investment bank Mediobanca has opened three branches in Europe (Paris, Madrid, and Frankfurt) and one in New York. Italy’s most influential investment bank has reportedly managed to avoid defaults during the debt woes, having announced a sharp increase in dividends, as well as a stock buy-back.
