UK - Braveheart et al. invest £250,000 into NXVision
Technology-focused investor Braveheart has led a £250,000 funding round for place-shifting technology company NXVision, alongside Scottish Enterprise, LINC Scotland and management.
Dunfermline-based NXVision has developed a technology for the place-shifting market that allows operators to access Freeview and satellite set top boxes remotely from personal computers, laptops and mobile phones using internet protocol, either through the 3G or Wi-Fi networks. The company's technology now works with Apple iPhone/iPod Touch, Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, LG, Google Android, RIM and Windows Mobile handsets. NX Vision's new side-loading product allows programmes to be tagged for mobile recording through the electronic programme guide, and once recorded, the programme is transferred either via Wi-Fi or 3G to a selected mobile device for viewing.
The new funding will assist NXVision in securing contracts as well as grow the company into its next stages of development.
