UK - MSIF invests £300,000 in carbon monoxide testing company
The Liverpool Seed Fund, managed by the Merseyside Special Investment Fund (MSIF), has invested ТЃ300,000 of seed funding in Detectagas, a carbon monoxide testing company.
The company has developed a method for testing the sensors on carbon monoxide detectors; current testing buttons only test the alarm. The potential market for the product is lucrative, with 6 million detectors in the UK and 80 million in the US. Around 50 people a year in the UK die from carbon monoxide poisoning.
