SWEDEN - RWE Innogy invests SEK 12m into Mantex

Mantex has developed an efficient system to measure moisture and ash content in biomass. Using an automated process a higher level of accuracy than previous methods can be achieved, while tests can be done on both samples and in-process organic material flows. By detecting unwanted pollutants in wood chips and other biological materials, Mantex can measure the quality of the fuel. The business targets companies within the paper and pulp and timber industry.

Mantex first production unit was completed in March 2008, with marketing commencing in October the same year, following a succesful evaluation of the product by the Departement of Forest Products at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in Uppsala.

Kista-based Mantex has won both the Swedish Cleantech Company of the Year 2008 and Innovation & Technology Award 2009.
