PEP and Keyhaven launch co-investment partnership
Italian GP Private Equity Partners (PEP) and London-based private equity firm Keyhaven Capital Partners have launched a co-investment partnership.
The initiative will target mid-market growth capital and buyout investments in Italian companies looking to expand and internationalise. Particular attention will be given to pre-IPO businesses.
Keyhaven currently makes direct, secondary and fund-of-funds investments.
Both players intend to leverage their respective national and international networks to grow investee companies. Major emerging markets such as China, Brazil, Russia, Poland and India will be targeted. A variety of stages and segments will be considered.
Private Equity Partners divested Italian ceramics maker Marazzi Group alongside Permira as part of a trade sale to Mohawk Industries in 2012. The transaction was valued at €1.17bn, making it the second-largest Italian deal of the year behind Cinven's sale of the aviation business unit of Avio to General Electric for €3.3bn, according to unquote" data.
