
SPAIN - ASCRI celebrates frist Spanish private equity awards
ASCRI celebrated its first Spanish Private Equity awards on 22 May, open to all firms operating in the country that completed exits during 2007.
In the mega-dealcategroy the prize was shared by Advent International and Mercapital for Parques Reunidos and USP Hospitales respectively. Corpfin won in the buyout category, while 3i won in the category for best expansion exit.
On the venture front, Highgrowth Partners won in the start-up categy with their exit from Net Transmit & Receive.
Former chairman of Mercapital, José María Lozaiga won an honorary prize for his contributions to the private equity sector over the last 20 years.
