UK - Finance Wales et al. invest £1m in Mesuro
Government-backed Finance Wales, university investment group Fusion IP and the ERA Foundation have invested £1m in mobile communications company Mesuro.
Mesuro is a spinout from Cardiff University. The company develops technology that enables the energy efficient operation of base stations in mobile communication networks and mobile phones by using less power, thereby reducing CO2 emissions. Wireless applications, such as Bluetooth and wifi, rely on power amplifiers to broadcast signal. Mesuro's product allows the mobile phone manufacturer to make their power amplifiers operate efficiently.
Finance Wales and Fusion IP are each contributing £375,000, while the ERA Foundation is investing £250,000.
The new capital will be used to complete the company's product development and commercialise its technology.
