GERMANY - Wellington Partners leads EUR 8m Qype funding
Wellington Partners has led an EUR 8m Series-B funding round for Qype, an operator of online city guides, alongside existng backers Advent Venture Partners and Partech International.
Hamburg-based Qype, which was founded in 2005 by Stephan Uhrenbacher, is a communication platform that allows users to discover places, businesses and services across 6,000 European towns and cities. The site attracts more than 5 million unique users per month across UK, Germany, France, Ireland, Austria and Switzerland. The site is also available in a mobile version and an iphone version.
