UK - Epi-V invests £7m in Moorland Energy
Specialist investor Epi-V has invested a further ТЃ7m in Moorland Energy, an upstream exploration and production company.
Moorland Energy is a vehicle created to acquire exploration licences to extract hydrocarbons reserves from surveyed and potentially delineated discoveries. The company was formed in 2008 and is based in London.
The new funding will enable the business to fund the design, planning and engineering developments required to optimise gas production at its Ebberston South site in North Yorkshire, and to prepare the well for future connection to the UK transmission system. The capital will also be used to undertake further exploration work on the company's PEDL 120 licence at the Wykeham gas field.
Epi-V previously invested £10m into the business in November 2008 to finance appraisal drilling, well testing and reserve verification activities on two exploration licences it acquire from Warwick Energy.
