Nokia Siemens looking for private equity support
Nokia Siemens is looking for a potential $1bn capital injection in exchange for a minority stake in the company, according to reports.
The company is rumoured to be talking to several private equity firms including Silver Lake Partners, TPG, Blackstone, Bain Capital and KKR. Nokia Siemens is a joint venture between Finland's Nokia Corp and Germany's Siemens AG. The discussions come following a $1.2bn agreement by Nokia Siemens to buy Motorola's telecoms equipment unit.
It is thought the capital injection will support preparations for an IPO in the next few years.
