
Alcuin announces fund closing on £81m
Alcuin Capital Partners has hold a closing of its Third Alcuin Fund with £81m commitments. The final closing on the vehicle, which has a target of £100m, is expected to happen by the end of the first quarter of 2011.
Alcuin makes £2-10m growth capital and buyout investments in UK companies valued between £5m and £30m across all sectors.
The fund is backed by a group of institutional investors and family offices including Alliance Trust Equity Partners, the European Investment Fund, Parish Capital Advisors, RenditeWertBeteiligungen (RWB) and an undisclosed UK insurance company. Elm Capital Associates is acting as exclusive placement agent.
Alcuin’s third fund has already invested in organic waste recycling and waste-to-energy company Agrivert and audiobook publisher AudioGo, recently acquired from BBC Worldwide.
