Insight launches $510m co-investment fund
Insight Venture Partners has raised $510m for its latest vehicle, Insight Venture Partners Co-investment Fund III.
The fund will invest on a worldwide basis alongside the $2.6bn Insight Venture Partners VIII fund, which closed in May 2013.
The latest fund brings the VC's total capital raised to $8bn since inception in 1995.
In February 2014, Insight took part in a $27m series-B round for Vinted, a Lithuanian mobile marketplace for second-hand clothing. The previous month it led an $88m series-E round for Delivery Hero, a German online food ordering service.
Investments
The vehicle will target high-growth technology companies globally. Investing alongside Insight Venture Partners VIII, which provides equity cheques of more than $15m, the co-investment fund will enable the firm to provide more than $500m of equity per transaction.
Investors
The majority of capital for the fund was provided by Insight's existing investors.
