Balderton invests in Accel-backed Cloud9
Balderton Capital has invested in Cloud9, an Amsterdam-based provider of cloud-based programming software currently backed by Accel Partners.
Balderton stated it was attracted to the company by the move towards cloud-based products in the programming software industry.
Cloud9 will continue expanding its engineering team following the deal.
The transaction is the second in quick succession for Balderton in the Dutch software sector; in September it led a $4.5m series-A round for 3D Hubs, a Amsterdam-based peer-to-peer network of 3D printers.

Founded in 2010 and with offices in Amsterdam and San Francisco, Cloud9 is a provider of cloud-based collaborative programming software. The company has developers across five European countries and around 500,000 registered users.
