
Oresa exits Somaco to trade
Oresa has agreed to sell Romania-based pre-cast concrete producer Somaco to trade buyer LafargeHolcim.
Oresa acquired Somaco's six factories in stages and during its holding period, aiming to refurbish and upgrade the company's facilities and increase capacity.
LafargeHolcim is a Switzerland-based manufacturer and supplier of cement and aggregates. The corporation has wholly acquired Somaco to expand its position in the Romanian building materials market. This is its sixth acquisition this year.
Somaco reported revenues of €56m in 2018, up from €32.9m in 2014.
Previous funding
Oresa Ventures acquired a majority stake in the company for €32.5m in 2008. Following the transaction, Oresa acquired Somaco's three factories located in Buzau, Romania and Adjud.
Oresa then acquired a factory from G&D Preffabricati in 2011 and two factories from Europrefabricate in 2014. The investment firm has invested more than €20m in the company between 2009 and 2018.
