
Holtzbrinck Ventures et al. inject $7m into OnlineTours
Holtzbrinck Ventures, e.ventures, Global Founders Capital and Inventure Partners have taken part in a $7m series-B round for OnlineTours, a Russia-based online travel agency.
The funding will enable OnlineTours to develop its existing technology and invest in marketing.
The round brings the total amount invested in OnlineTours to $9m, with Inventure Partners having previously taken part in a $2m series-A round for the company in 2012.
The VCs stated they were attracted to OnlineTours by the market knowledge of its management team and the growing online travel market in Russia.
Global Founders Capital was part of the VC consortium that exited Trivago, a Germany-based provider of online travel services, to Expedia in December 2012. The deal was worth €434m, according to unquote” data.

Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Moscow, OnlineTours is an online provider of travel packages. The company stated that the Russian package tours market is worth $15bn.
