Leonardo Venture-backed GROHNO-Guss insolvent
Leonardo Venture today announced its portfolio company GROHNO-Guss has gone into administration.
The VC had pledged €400,000 to be paid in two tranches as part of a financing round in December 2009 and has so far committed €200,000.
Other investors in GROHNO-Guss are banking group KfW and seed investor High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), which invested €500,000 in the company in January 2007.
GROHNO-Guss was founded in 2006 in Düren and developed a casting process that enables microstructures to be cast in metal surfaces. Microstructures are important for components in aircraft engines, gas turbines and pumps. GROHNO-Guss is also developing new application areas such as energy, cleantech, medicine and food technology and employs five people.
