MTIP in ReActive series-A
MTIP MedTech Innovation Partners has led a seven-digit series-A for German intensive care robotics startup ReActive Robotics.
Further backers were High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), Bayern Kapital and TQ-Group. The investment in ReActive will be used for the development and clinical validation of several prototypes by 2017.
Basel-based MTIP is a VC focused on medical technology. It was founded in June 2015. TQ-Group is a German electronics company based in Seefeld. In 2012, it acquired Earlybird-backed drivetrain producer Clean Mobile.
HTGF's last investment in a medical equipment business was in September 2015, when it participated in the €4.5m series-A for Coramaze Technologies.
Company
Founded in Munich in April 2015, ReActive aims to help intensive care personnel with rehabilitation therapy for their patients. The startup develops therapy robotics that automate early-mobilisation in intensive care units. Using robotic modules that can be attached and detached to a bed, patients can be mobilised directly in their hospital bed.
The device is scheduled to become available in Europe at the beginning of 2018.
