One Peak, Morgan Stanley invest €22m in Ecointense
Private equity house One Peak Partners has partnered with Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital to provide a €22m investment for German management software developer Ecointense.
This transaction also constitutes an exit for early-stage investor Berliner Business Angels Fondsgesellschaft (BBAF) and Swiss family office Wecken & Cie. However, German VC High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) continues to hold a significant stake in the business.
One Peak was attracted to the company's strong growth trajectory and technology platform, according to a statement. Ecointense's CEO stated that the company has known the teams at One Peak and Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital for some time and that the parameters of the transaction were jointly defined.
The funding will be used to accelerate the company's international growth and develop the product. The three founders will remain at the helm of the company as managing partners.
Previous funding
HTGF led a €575,000 early-stage funding round for Ecointense in February 2008. BBAF also took part in the round.
Company
Ecointense was founded in 2007 and is based in Berlin. It develops and sells a product called Ecowebdesk, which is a management software designed to help businesses meet health and safety, sustainability and compliance requirements. It employs 90 people across its offices in Berlin, Bavaria, Lower Saxony, Austria and the US.
