HTGF backs Iconiq Lab
High-Tech Gründerfonds has invested in a seven-figure funding round for crypto asset management firm Iconiq Lab.
HTGF used its latest investment vehicle High-Tech Gründerfonds III for the investment. The vehicle held a final close on €316.5m in May 2018.
German fintech incubator FinLab also took part in the financing, increasing its stake in the business.
Iconiq will use the fresh capital to launch its asset management platform and scale its business.
The company said in a statement that it expects traditional assets such as equities, debt and real estate to become tokenised on the blockchain in the near future.
Company
Iconiq is headquartered in Frankfurt and was founded in 2017 with support from the FinLab incubator. The company manages funds that invest in crypto assets and is launching a platform to allow its users to invest in traditional assets in tokenised form.
