
VR Equitypartner acquires minority stake in Votronic
DZ Bank’s investment arm VR Equitypartner has acquired a minority stake in electronic components manufacturer Votronic Electronic-Systeme.
Co-founders Richard Schmelz and Heiner Spiekermann have sold to successors Dieter Sojak and Jörg Borneis-Eifert, who will jointly hold the majority of shares in the company. The founders will remain involved in an advisory capacity throughout the transition period.
Following the transaction, the company plans to expand its market internationally as currently sales are mainly generated in Germany.
VR Equitypartner writes equity tickets of up to €20m and invests from an evergreen fund.

Votronic develops and produces electronic components for motorhomes, rescue vehicles, special purpose vehicles and boats with more than 70 employees. Founded in 1987, the company is based in Lauterbach.
