HTGF and Creathor back Roombeats
High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) and Creathor Venture have injected €500,000 into Roombeats, a Berlin-based affiliate marketing and image-based content provider.
The two venture capital firms were attracted to the company because of its ability to add value to existing images, as well as generate new business from existing content. This allows both the manufacturers and the publishers to create additional value from their content, making it an appealing opportunity, according to the firms.
Previous funding
Roombeats previously received funding from Digital Pioneers, the investment firm of Bigpoint founder Heiko Hubertz. According to reports, Digital Pioneers invested a five-figure sum into the company last summer in return for a 6% share.
Company
Roombeats was founded in April 2012 and is headquartered in Berlin. The company produces interactive imaging for online publishers, allowing consumers to click on tags in images that present brand and pricing details, as well as a direct link to the online store that sells what is featured in the original image.
People
Markus Berger-de Léon is the founder of Roombeats. Marvin Andrä is an investment manager at HTGF, while Ingo Franz is a partner at Creathor.
