IK exits KWC to Franke
IK Investment Partners has agreed to sell KWC, part of the Hansa Group, to Swiss-based kitchen specialist Franke.
The sale of KWC comes two years after IK acquired Hansa, a provider of bathrooms and kitchen sanitary fittings in the DACH region, via its IK2007 fund. The Hansa business remains part of the IK2007 fund's portfolio. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval.
Franke is a provider of solutions and equipment for domestic kitchens, washrooms, professional food service, coffee preparation and beverage delivery.
The acquisition is expected to strengthen Franke's research and development capability in the kitchen and bathroom taps sector, and to diversify Franke's washroom taps portfolio.
Company
Founded in 1874, KWC is one of Hansa's main brands, present in the European fittings market for premium kitchen and sanitary fittings in Switzerland.
Under IK's ownership, KWC has strengthened its position in Switzerland and expanded internationally. In addition, a broad supply chain optimisation and production footprint efficiency programme has been implemented.
