
Soundcloud raises $50m in Series-C funding round
German online music platform Soundcloud has received an estimated amount of $50m in a funding round led by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers.
GGV Capital invested alongside Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers.
Previous funding
The first funding round of €2.5m was led by Doughty Hanson Technology Ventures, while the Series-B funding, worth $10m, was provided by Union Square Ventures and Index Ventures.

Soundcloud is headquartered in Berlin and was founded by Alexander Ljung and Eric Wahlforss in 2008.
People
Mary Meeker, partner, led the deal on behalf of Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and will join the board of the company as an observer. Ljung is CEO of Soundcloud.
