DBAG invests €5m in DNS:Net
Deutsche Beteiligungs (DBAG) has invested an initial €5m in German telecommunications and IT services provider DNS:Net.
DBAG invested €2.1m from its balance sheet, while the DBAG Expansion Capital Fund provided €2.9m. The GP secured a 25% stake and is now a silent partner in the business. DBAG also committed to provide additional funding in the future.
DNS:Net will now focus on two growth projects: it will further the development of its broadband offering in rural areas and will also grow its fibre-optic offering targeting the housing industry.
DBAG's DBAG Expansion Capital Fund vehicle is currently holding three portfolio companies: PSS, inexio and DNS:NET. So far, 19% of the fund has been committed.

Established in 1998, DNS:Net provides telecommunications, internet and data-centre services, targeting both private and business customers. The company has more recently diversified its offering by providing broadband connections in the Berlin area.
Based in Berlin, DNS:Net employs 30 staff and posted a €13m turnover in 2012.
