
Earlybird backs B2X Care Solutions
Earlybird Venture Capital has led a $15m series-B funding round for B2X Care Solutions, enabling the company to acquire a majority stake in India-based The Service Solutions (TSS).
The fresh financing will be used to accelerate B2X's engineering and sales efforts, as well as for the acquisition of TSS. All TSS service stores will be rebranded as B2X Care Solutions and its existing Smartbar technology will be transferred into multi-brand retail stores in India.
The existing management team at TSS will continue to lead the company for B2X, with founder Sreevathsa Prabhakar becoming managing director.
Company
Founded in 2009, TSS is an Apple-authorised service provider in India and an Apple-authorised reseller. It also sells accessories for Apple products and Apple protection plans.
Additionally, TSS has developed a cloud-based customer relationship management system, which provides after-market support. It licenses this platform to distributors and service provides to manage their after sales processes.
The 200-strong company has 19 locations in India and is in the process of opening more. It plans to have a presence across India by the end of 2015. It is headquartered in Mumbai with a subsidiary office in Dubai.
Headquartered in Munich, B2X provides customer care solutions for smartphones. As well as a technical support and supply centre in Bocholt, it also operates in a further 32 countries, including Brazil, China, India, Mexico, Poland, Russia and the US. Founded in 2007, it has 407 employees. It conducts 10 million repairs and transactions per year.
