PE-backed Interoute acquires Easynet for £402m
Aleph- and Crestview-backed fibre-optic networks and cloud operator Interoute has bought cloud infrastructure business Easynet from MDNX for £402m.
The deal will be financed by a combination of debt and equity from Interoute's shareholders.
According to the Times, the acquisition of Easynet is part of Interoute's growth strategy, preparing the company for a public listing. Interoute declined to comment on this.
In March 2015, Aleph and Crestview acquired a 30% stake in Interoute. The remaining shares are held by the Sandoz family foundation.
Interoute acquired Easynet because of its scale and its complementary customer base, geographic focus and product set. The investors target further acquisition for Interoute.
