
Zukunftsfonds Heilbronn, HTGF et al. back Compositence
Zukunftsfonds Heilbronn has become the lead investor in German carbon-fibre components company Compositence following a capital increase round that also included fresh investment from High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) and Mittelständische Beteiligungsgesellschaft Baden-Württemberg (MGB).
Compositence previously secured funding from HTGF and MBG in June 2011 to kick-start serial production of the company's industrial applications based on carbon-fibre components.
Incoming investor Zukunftsfonds Heilbronn is a privately funded investment vehicle that supports the development of young technology companies from idea to establishment in areas such as energy and environment, medical technology, electronics and automation. The VC fund currently has 16 portfolio companies.
Company
Compositence was founded by Ingo Karb and Volker Witzel and spun out from the University of Stuttgart in 2008. The company offers production equipment, software and prototype production of components utilising fibre composite structures.

Compositence set up an advisory board chaired by the Zukunftsfonds Heilbronn CEO Thomas Villinger and including HTGF investment manager Benjamin Erhart and entrepreneur Peter Drexel.
