
iBionext in series-B follow-up for Prophesee
iBionext has injected further capital in French computer vision technology developer Prophesee, completing a series-B round started in 2016.
Through the new injection of capital, iBionext, a venture capital GP specialising in healthcare-focused startups, has become the main investor in the company.
iBionext disclosed that the total amount raised by Prophesee (formerly known as Chronocam) in the past three years amounts to $40m.
The VC firm recently closed its maiden fund iBionext Growth on €90m.
Previous funding
The company was co-founded and seeded by chairperson Bernard Gilly and the iBionext team in 2014. The seed round amounted to an estimated $850,000.
The series-B's first round took place in H2 2016 and saw a consortium of GPs invest $15m in the startup, known as Chronocam at the time. The round was led by Intel Capital and joined by Robert Bosch Venture Capital, iBionext, CEA Investissement and Renault-Nissan Group. Altogether, the pool of investors held 15% of Chronocam's share capital.

Prophesee develops vision sensors and computer vision systems for automotive, Internet-of-Things and other applications requiring vision processing. The company currently holds 22 patents.
Launched in 2014 and based in Paris, the company currently employs 60 staff.
